2026 Essentials and Fundamentals (E&F)

Fall Session: September 26, 2026 – New Orleans, LA

This one-day, in person event is specifically designed to cover the basics of utilization management, care management, and clinical documentation integrity.  It has proven to be an excellent opportunity for new physician advisors, clinicians considering transition into this critical and dynamic administrative career, or those looking to brush-up or expand their knowledge base. Completion of Essentials & Fundamentals is also a pathway for eligibility to take the ACPA certification exam to become American College of Physician Advisors Certified (APCA-C).

The in-person only venue allows:

  • Access to speakers who are content experts and thought leaders within each respective topic with years of experience in active physician advisor practice. 
  • Ample opportunity for your specific questions to be answered during the sessions and during the dedicated E&F lunch including the presenters.
  • Greater understanding and ability to apply the principles discussed in your specific organizations.

The event will not be recorded and participation will be limited to just 50 attendees in New Orleans to maintain a smaller, more personal, and interactive educational setting.

All E&F attendees must agree to the ACPA Code of Ethics & Professional Conduct.

Cancellations or Changes

Cancellation of your E&F 2026 registration must be received in writing and directed to Tracy Ptacek at [email protected]. Refunds will be processed to your original form of payment, less a $50 administrative fee. No cancellations or refunds will be accepted after September 7, 2025.
