Vice President of Finance
Reports to: President
Tenure: Two years. May be reappointed to this position for an additional term.
Function: The Vice President of Finance is a high-profile American College of Physician Advisors (ACPA) leadership team position. The Vice President of Finance oversees the College’s finances. The time commitment is expected to be five hours per week. The Vice President of Finance serves as a member of the Executive Committee.
Principal Activities:
- Develop the annual budget for the ACPA in collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Track the College's financial performance in achieving its strategic objectives.
- Review and present monthly financial statements to the President.
- Monitor and manage ACPA’s operational and investment accounts.
- Participate in contract negotiations and vendor selection.
- Forecast future financial performance based on historical performance and future growth opportunities.
- Provide recommendations to the President on the decisions impacting the College’s investment account.
- Review and approve invoices presented by the Frontline Staff.
- Participate in the Executive Committee discussions (at least two one-hour monthly meetings).
- Participate in the annual leadership retreat.
Requirements:
- Physician degree (MD, MBBS, DO) with an advanced degree such as an MBA or MHA
- ACPA-C credential is preferred [commitment to earn the credential within three months of accepting the position is acceptable]
