ACPA has Announced their Newest Advisory Board Member

Cynthia FleeceThe American College of Physician Advisors has announced their newest Advisory Board Member: Cynthia Fleece, RN, ACM-RN, MBA.

Cynthia A. Fleece currently serves as the Director for Utilization Review and Denials Management for the BayCare Health System in Clearwater, Florida. She is a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida and holds an MBA with a focus in Finance. 

“We are so excited to welcome Cynthia to the Advisory Board,” said Advisory Board Chair Jessica Gustafson, Esq. “Her impressive case management experience and perspective will be invaluable to us as we continue our work to support ACPA and the physician advisor profession.”

Ms. Fleece has over 28 years of experience in healthcare including emergency/trauma clinical management, care coordination and leadership. Her leadership experience in care coordination includes working for both for profit and not for profit healthcare facilities, focused on strategic team organization, length of stay review, denials management and development of standardized workflows between Utilization Nurses and Physician Advisors. She is certified by the National Board for Case Management as an Accredited Case Manager – RN. 

“It is a tremendous honor to be part of the ACPAs Advisory Board,” said Ms. Fleece. “Every industry has been challenged and had to undergo change in 2020 but Healthcare has been tested like no other. Today, Case Management and Physician Advisor teams face new challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic including regulations impacting reimbursement and utilization of services. Health care organizations are reliant on our teams to navigate these turbulent times to assure compliance, utilization oversight and propose recommendations for change.

I am looking forward to working with the Advisory Board in addressing the ever-changing needs of the Case Management and the Physician Advisors teams.”
