Vice President of Education

Function:
The Vice President of Education is a high-profile American College of Physician Advisors (ACPA) leadership team position. The Vice President of Education oversees the College’s educational offerings, including the ACPA certification program, the National Physician Advisors Conference, and the Essentials and Fundamentals Conference. The time commitment is expected to be 10 hours per week. The Vice President of Education serves as a member of the Executive Committee. 

Principal Activities:

  1. Ensures that the educational offerings are aligned with the College’s strategic plan and address the needs of the physician advisor community.
  2. Facilitates regular communication between various stakeholders and the Executive Committee as often as appropriate to address issues of mutual interest. 
  3. Provides oversight of the National Physician Advisor Conference and Essentials and Fundamentals management team. 
  4. Provides oversight of the ACPA Certification program committee. 
  5. Design and implement strategies to improve educational programs based on participants' feedback. 
  6. Offers strategic advice on future educational initiatives to the President. 
  7. Cultivate future leaders in alignment with the College’s strategic interest in succession planning. 
  8. Collaborate with the administrative director of ACPA and other stakeholders regarding implementing the college’s educational offerings.
  9. Well-versed in and/or comfortable with providing constructive direction
  10. Participate in the Executive Committee discussions (at least two one-hour monthly meetings).
  11. Participate in the annual leadership retreat. 

Requirements:

  1. Physician degree (M.D., MBBS, D.O.) 
  2. An advanced degree, such as an MBA or MHA, is preferred 
  3. ACPA member with current ACPA membership for at least three (3) years
  4. ACPA-C credential is a must 
  5. At least five years of experience as a physician advisor in any capacity 
  6. Experience in delivering educational offerings is preferred
